CAUSATIVE VERBS,
ACTIVE CAUSATIVE FORM
In English, the causative form is used when we don’t do
someting ourselves, instead we arrange for someone else to do it for us.
There are two basic causative
structures:
1. Active Causative form
2. Passive Causative Form
Active Causative Verb
The active causative verb as :
1. LET
Let is used when we want to allow
someone to do something.
Examples:
^ Mr. Michael et Dina leave class early.
^ My mom let me borrow her pants.
^ We are going to let write the letter.
2. MAKE
Make is used when we want to force
someone to do something.
Examples:
^ Mr. John made her wife attend Rulli’s birthday party.
^ Anna made her son be quite in theater.
^ My Father makes me do my homework.
3. HAVE
Have is used when we want to give
someone the responsibillity to do
something
Examples:
^ I had my hair cut.
^ I had my shoes cleaned yesterday.
^ My English teacher has me do the homework in a week.
4. GET
Get is used when we want to convince
to do something or to trick someone
into doing something.
Examples:
^ I got my computer fixed.
^ He got the mechanic to repair the machine.
^ She got him to read more.
